Abstract

Bibliometric indicators measure the impact of publications through citations received. Used in evaluation of faculty, projects, scientific production and institutions to assess visibility and impact. In this article, a bibliometric analysis of the journal "Identidad Bolivariana" is performed, using Publish or Perish version 8.8 software and Google Scholar as a data source. The number of citations received by the journal's publications and authors in the study period from 2016 - 2022 is examined as bibliometric indicator. The results show stability in the frequency of publication over the analysis period, with constant productivity in terms of published articles. In addition, growth in citations is observed until 2019, followed by a progressive decline. The five most cited articles highlight their impact on the academic community. Although most of the articles are written by one or two authors, significant collaboration is also evident in certain papers. It is suggested to improve the editorial process through rigorous review policies, active promotion, and international collaboration to increase the visibility and impact of the journal. The journal "Identidad Bolivariana" has the potential to consolidate itself as a valuable resource for the dissemination of knowledge and progress in its thematic area, with continuous efforts and commitment towards continuous improvement in editorial quality.
