Abstract
In the mid-20th century in Colombia, the philosophy program of the Na-tional University in Bogotá was established. It proposed understanding philosophy as the foundation of all science. In a Colombian society that was developing philosophically, Rafael Carrillo contributed to the crea-tion of this undergraduate program. With it, he sought to establish the philosophy program as a phalanstery where knowledge could be deve-loped and learning promoted. In defining the essential thematic axis of the undergraduate program, Carrillo envisioned a university career that fostered critique, learning, and discussion in the pursuit of knowledge
