Abstract

The article examines human development in the Pacific Alliance countries (Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru) between 2000–2023 (HDI) and 2010–2023 (IHDI and GDI), comparing three UNDP indicators: Human Development Index, Inequality-Adjusted HDI, and Gender Development Index. Using a descriptive approach and international secondary data, it identifies trends, progress, and setbacks in health, education, and income. Findings show sustained improvements in average development levels but also significant losses due to inequality and persistent gender gaps. The GDI highlights progress toward parity, with varying paces among countries. The
article concludes that the region faces structural challenges
requiring comprehensive and inclusive public policies to achieve equitable human development.
