Cutaneous dehydration in older adults: A case study in the populations of Barrio Central and Tanda in Nayón.

Abstract

Cutaneous dehydration is a growing concern in older adults, with significant effects on their health and quality of life. In this study, a comprehensive review of the literature and information related to the populations of Barrio Central and Tanda of Nayón was conducted to evaluate the factors, clinical manifestations, and aesthetic intervention strategies related to cutaneous dehydration in older adults. Factors such as physiological aging, decreased skin barrier function and exposure to environmental conditions of the sector were found to contribute to skin dehydration in this population. In this study, two groups of 45 and 55 older adults from Barrio Central and San Francisco de Tanda were formed, where a series of standardized measurements were used to evaluate skin dehydration and propose an appropriate treatment. This study was conducted using a descriptive methodology with a quantitative approach.
