Abstract
The purpose of the research was to contribute to the strengthening of technical high school education through curriculum updates, links with the productive sector, and the promotion of training experiences aligned with the demands of the contemporary labor market. The overall objective was to analyze the impact of technical high school education in accounting on the professional development of graduates from the Luis Rivadeneira Educational Unit during the years 2020–2023, considering their entry into the labor market, acquired skills, and training gaps. The study, which had a quantitative approach and a descriptive non-experimental design, used a survey as a data collection technique applied to a sample of 35 graduates. The results revealed that 75% of the participants had not managed to find employment in their field of training, which highlights deficiencies in the articulation between technical education and the labor market.
It is concluded that the lack of curriculum updates and limited professional practice affect the employability of graduates.
