HE NURSING CARE TO NEWBORN WITH INEFFECTIVE BREASTFEEDING IN BARRANQUILLA

Abstract
Background: Premature birth is one of the complications that can occur in pregnancy, with highest impact in not controlled gestations or with many risk factors. A premature patience birth with 32-week and 1,480gr of weight was approached, with precedents of: mature mother with preeclampsia, a Venezuelan immigrant, without prenatal control. One of the protective factors to reduce neonatal morbidity is breastfeeding, which in some cases may be ineffective.
Objective: Provide nursing care to newborns with ineffective breastfeeding in medium complexity institution in Barranquilla city and subsequently in-home visits.
Method: Case tracking of premature patient identified in pediatric hospitalization, nursing care process is applied, based on the five processes of the caring process theory (knowning, being with, doing for, informing, maintain belief)
Results: Patient with diagnosis of ineffective breastfeeding was identified; according to Likert's scale from severely committed to uncommitted.
Conclusion: Ineffective breastfeeding has a noticeable prevalence right now leading to complications in good development of newborns, however, in this research, the willingness to improve breastfeeding by the mother was satisfactory, achieving the protection and maintenance of breastfeeding, observed in the proper development of premature.
