Prospective reflections of scientific research in the evaluation of quality in higher education in the latin american context

Abstract
In this review article, a reflective analysis is carried out with a prospective approach of the current and future state of scientific research in quality evaluation processes, leading to the accreditation of higher education institutions in the context of Latin America, taken as reference various perspectives and recommendations given at international higher education conferences, recommendations from UNESCO and other international organizations that propose including in the substantive research processes, radical transformations that allow inserting into their management processes, policies to develop high-quality scientific research. level and development of technologies and innovations that are transferred to society and the productive environment, managing to monetize the generation of knowledge and R&D&I processes and this has an impact on the financial conditions of universities. The article is presented in three sections. : Main characteristics of the development of Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean. Bibliometric indicators as a measure of the quality of Higher Education. An important reference is the European experience: analysis from Latin America and main emergencies and prospects.
