Abstract

This project corresponds to the global competitiveness research line and is one of the results of the Competitiveness project, a means of internationalization of SMEs in Guayaquil. This study aimed to analyze the content and structure of the business plans presented by students at the Money Tigers event in Ecuador. The methodology adopted was qualitative and descriptive, thoroughly examining 15 plans selected from a total of 25. The results revealed equal gender participation (60% women, 40% men) and significant sectoral diversity, covering food and beverage, manufacturing, services, technology and export. However, critical areas for improvement were identified in the plans. In the market study, the definition of the customer profile and costs in marketing strategies was lacking. Operational aspects revealed omissions in installation costs and a schedule of activities for start-up. On the financial side, the evaluation was limited, omitting crucial analyses. As a general conclusion, the need for specific educational interventions to address these deficiencies is highlighted, thus strengthening the quality and viability of student ventures in Ecuador.
