Determinants Of Burnout Syndrome In Teachers Of The Faculty Of Health And Social Sciences Of The Bolivarian University Institute Of Technology
Main Article Content
Abstract
Burnout syndrome is a growing concern in the educational field, affecting the mental health and well-being of teachers. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of organizational factors on the manifestation and severity of burnout syndrome in teachers of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of the Bolivarian University Institute of Technology (Instituto Superior Universitario Bolivariano de Tecnología). A quantitative approach was used, with a correlational scope and a transversal non-experimental design. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and a questionnaire designed to measure organizational factors were used to collect the information, which was applied to the 121 teachers who make up the faculty. The main results show a medium-high prevalence of burnout syndrome, with an emphasis on low personal accomplishment and high levels of depersonalization. A significant relationship was found between workload, work environment and recognition systems and burnout syndrome. In order to mitigate the situation, strategies have been proposed that combine measures to improve the mental health, emotional well-being and professional satisfaction of teachers, which will not only help to reduce burnout, but also strengthen the retention of teaching talent and improve educational quality in a sustainable way.
